[MD] Enviornmentalism as Religion

Well even as a nature-worshipping, tree-hugging, pantheist, I a sorta agree
with Platt's point.

I think a lot of what passes as environmentalism is actually the desire of
SOMish society to ameliorate its worst effects so that it can keep on
rolling.

Like the desire to keep wilderness pristine so we don't have to see beer
cans in the background when we watch nature shows on tv.

And besides, I really like Stephen Asma, the author of the book I sent Dan
for Christmas and a most righteous writer and Buddhist.
