 John
A god piece of comedy for Wed morning. I don't know where to begin, so
I'll keep it very brief.

somewhere around 1950s the colonists where returning home and giving the
natives their 'freedom'.

The Muslim and Arab world was looking to the west for help, support,
direction and as a model example to what to strive for.

In places like turkey, Egypt, Iran and other countries, the western
attire was it. Go back and look at documentaries form that era. Almost
everyone had a suit and tie on. The west was the example thrive for.

Then 3 things happen, those 3 events happened that changed all that.

1. 1948, The Palestinian Diaspora
2. The Refusal of the IMF, under the urging of John Foster Dulles, to
help Egypt build the Aswan dam. Derailing Egypt's westernization and
driving them into the communist camp.
3. 1953, the overthrow of a democratically elected government in Iran by
the CIA in operation AJAX, so the British can get their oil for cheap.
paving the road for the creation of a revolution in 1978. By the way,
that revolution was not meant to turn the country into a theocracy.

That is not to say that some of you said is not true or does not have
it's merits. Then again, how many treaties did we sign with the Indians
only to keep breaking them. To this day, some of those treaties have not
been settled.
