Now that's some interesting research Margaret.

generally a woman will NOT divorce her husband after an affair UNLESS

I also read some theorizing about why it's more socially accepted for men to
stray than women - based upon purely biological reasonings... I think it was
actually E.O Wilson, but my memory is hazy.

By that theory though, it would be more acceptable for a woman to have an
affair after she's passed the reproductive age, and I can sorta get that.
I can even sorta squint and imagine catching Lu at it with the cabana boy
and sorta think to myself "well, she's been a good wife and borne me five
kids.  She deserves a bit of fun I guess."

And I can't afford right now to take her on a  cruise.

I'd definitely fire the cabana boy tho.  To allow one's faithful wife an
indiscretion is one thing, but to encourage it smacks of disrespect for the
institution.
