True enough, but perhaps you move too fast for me, 
because I have no idea what we're talking about anymore.  
I had thought _you_ said "For Pirsig to say that the 
Intellectual Level is thinking itself when this seems to 
surely fly in the face of all he has said before must mean 
something."  Given that I thought you said it, I took the 
meaning of "this seems to surely fly in the face" to mean that 
_you_ thought something was "obvious" in reading Pirsig, that 
it was obvious that Pirsig was flying in the face of his previous 
characterizations of the intellectual level.

Given that I _don't_ think Pirsig was flying in the face of his 
previous characterizations, _I didn't_ think it was obvious.  I 
was _disagreeing_ that what you thought was obvious was 
obvious.  There were no yawns because I thought what you 
were saying was _contentious_, not obvious.

Though, perhaps I have drastically misunderstood the things 
you've been saying lately, for it often seems like you have to 
radically correct my understanding of the meaning of your words.
