Even though Pirsig (and indeed the entire MOQ) contradicts Arlo's
implication that "western elitism" and "moral superiority" is evil,
one has to admire Arlo's self-adoring ability to psychoanalyze people
he has never met.

[Arlo]
And I find it endlessly revealing that those who do the "grading"
always grade themselves at the top of the pile. What I condemn is
simply this. You want to grade, fine, but be prepared to receive a
few "F's" along the way.

But grading when done to take an honest appraisal of what one is
doing right and what one is doing wrong is one thing. Blanket grading
to claim moral supremacy over the rest of the world only demonstrates
your own pathetic shortcomings.

As for "psychoanalyzing" people, one simply has to read their posts
to see what their motivations are. What I said stands.
