hi david,
i think knowledge exists without the 'i'. i think the
'i',  a reified abstraction, presaged a huge increase
in knowledge: it literally opened up a whole new
abstract realm, but practical experiential knowledge
needs no ego. 
practical knowledge: now that shit works. abstract
knowlegde.....hmmmm the closer you get to certainty,
the further you are from reality.
