Erin,

I've not seen the film, and have only vague recollections of (and no
sympathies for) the SLA.

But I've said may times that "intent" is a key axis in determining the
quality of any "interaction" (Any interaction involving intentional
entities, like people, anyway.) You'll find it in my original 2000
Manifesto.

WHY someone says or does something is morally / quality-wise as
important as WHAT they say or do. I'm a firm believer in that. The
problem has always been pinning down that ineffable quality in a world
that expects GOF-objective evidence. MoQ and "new-objectivism" to the
rescue.

The main risk here, is the rhetoricians bandying about pejorative
rejoinders like "The road to hell is paved .... with good intentions".
(But every aphorism has it's contradictory opposite, so I wouldn't
worry.)

I thought it seemed like a fair film and R. Little and P. Hearst did too from what I heard so that is a good sign it is pretty balanced veiwpoint.

They really thought of themselves as guerrillas. People who do bad things generally do think of themselves in a positive light. They think that they are doing good and I think that is important to understand." Robert Stone
