maybe we just need to play with the word a little?

god = static anthropomorphic dude judging us 'up
there'
not very useful, in fact a big juicy pain in the arse.

how about 'gods' instead? 'gods' being the planets,
stars, the spirits. this is a return to pantheistic
paganism, which is useful i think. leads to a
re-enchantment of the world -  nature as the divine.

maybe a 'god' is any manifestation of consciousness
(ie Mind) that knows what it is. an awakened one, eg
buddha.

 we are all essentially 'god' (tat tvam asi)
we are all potentially gods

'god' seems a little disempowering, as if we are all
part of someone else's dream.

'gods' seems to  better accomodate the possibility of
our own dreaming.
