Micah's non-sequitor #1.  Just because Hitler did not persecute all successful people, doesn't entail he didn't persecute Jews because they were.

Micah's non-sequitor #2.  Just because Jews are a religious group, doesn't mean that was Hitler's excuse for persecuting them.  Proof:  Hitler persecuted those who converted to or were raised as Christians, but had any "Jewish blood" (i.e., were descended from Jews).

To recap, for those who do not understand the roots of the Holocost:
1) Envy.  Outlawing commerce between non-Jews & Jews removed the latter from economic competition.  In addition, the property of Jews was confiscated & redistributed to non-Jews.
2) Eugenics.  Hitler wanted a pure race, free of "Jewish blood".
3) Scapegoat.  Hitler needed to blame the depression on someone, surely not the National Socialists.
4) Religion.  Hitler claimed the Jews were responsible for the Romans crucifying Jesus.
