Hi Case, the one-minute answer ...
Simply that he seems to think that because he is "scientifically
right" he knows how the world works, but he denies the subject. He is
"hyper-rational" to use Dr James Willis term, "autistically objective"
to use another.
I don't dispute his science, I dispute his knowledge and
understanding. He doesn't understand Quality.
Also, being a scientist with that outlook, he consequently fails to
appreciate that being scientifically right is no argument to change
the minds of people who don't agree with him (like theists, who are
equally wong). There is no mystical or subjective angle to his
reasoning at all. Though as I always say, someone who is a big fan of
the deceased Douglas "DNA" Adams, can't be all bad :-)
If you're going to follow my links, look for the "Hyper-Rationalism"
essay (a review od Devil's Chaplain) and look at Dr James Willis
writing (which pre-dates Dawkins, but indicates how I feel about
exclusively scientific world-views).
This is my main agenda by the way.
The middle-way between science and religion.
MoQ for short. You know it makes sense.
