Since we're talking about solutions, don't get me
started on mountains... oh I love the Adirondack
Mountains. I want to live there, but I want to stick
around my mother and my wife's mother. Yet, I often
talk with my wife about how it would be my ultimate
dream to live in the Adirondack Mountains. The snow,
the many backpacking trails, even the town life is
dominated by the mountains. It's a lovely place.
I've only been there twice, and I've been to many
other east of the Mississippi River regions, but
nothin' beats the Adirondacks for places I've been.
I've even been to St. Johns at the Virgin Islands, but
first and foremost is those mountains. My grandpa
lived in an Italian valley surrounded by mountains.
He talked about fishin' in the mountain streams and
watching winter come, as the snow came down the
mountains until one day it was snowin' in the valley -
winter.

Ahhh, the acorns and leaves fall and you can't
stop it - surrender.

That's why I love the mountains or northern
regions. I get snow here, but it doesn't fall enough
for me. We've had some fall already, but nothing
stayed on the earth. I love those cold, snowy nights.
I go outside, bring a blanket and sit in the snow on
the blanket. I drink hot tea or coffee, and the
quiet... oh that wonderful quiet... you can hear the
soft, peaceful, pin-drop dreams of this earth and sky
full of animal critters walking along in the woods.
In the morning, seenin' animal tracks. I love this
season.

woods,
SA
