Overlap, yes, I like that. It keeps the levels
together, even while we might be focused on something
intellectually, somebody can see we are thinking about
something. If it is a problem we are trying to
resolve, then our attitude towards others while we
chew on the problem intellectually might come across
as either being calm or disruptive. This is how we
participate with the universe, even while we just sit.
Our 'result' even after a quiet meditation in a room
all to ourselves, with shine onward, or darken the
days of others. How our meditation goes, will live on
as we stand up. This is why the idea of zazen is
important. Zazen is meditation while we 'just sit',
but that experience of zazen is to continue into our
daily practice. Thus, we may notice zazen in our
practice at all times and places. It is not just
discrete items of exchange, as you might be trying to
say. This is all overlapping in a continuance that
goes on and on, circular fashion.
