on public nudity.....
well we could talk for hours about the myth of 'the
fall' etc; how indigenous aussies got round sans kit
with no probs...
but i would rather quickly relate my personal exp of
living on ibiza last year in the mediterranean.

i lived there for 5 months. as the weather warmed we
hit the beach regularly. many beaches were mostly
nude.

having grown up in a culture where this is not only
unusual but actually often ILLEGAL i kept my pants on,
although i did start to feel a bit silly after a
while: wearing clothes began to feel like wearing a
sweater on a summer's day.

after the initial shock of it all, like anything, you
get used to it. towards the end of my stay there i was
getting nude aswell. now when i go to the beach i try
and find somehere private to go nude. incomparably
better than wearing clothes. swimming feels more
sensual and the sun hits those spots that really need
hitting!

we have an absurd, extremely damaging cultural lean
towards okaying extreme violence but banning nudity
and sexual images. in fact there is a movie out now
about just that called....?(someone help please). i
realised in ibiza that the whole nude thing is just
another learned taboo that is soon dissolved once it
is faced and made conscious.
