I like public nudity.

There, I said it - sometimes I like to go down to famous old Wreck Beach and
take my clothes off and hang around in the sun. Nobody seems to mind,
there's lots of people in various states of undress who all get along...
there are naked people selling concessions. And girls wandering around
selling cocktails wearing nothing but a tray and a fanny pack... one might
hazard to call it paradise.

It has been legal for women to go topless in the province of Ontario, Canada
since 1996 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topless)
As far as I know (and I grew up there) the incidents of public fornication
have not increased in the last ten years, but maybe I'm hanging out with the
wrong crowd? In fact, there hasn't been a marked rise in the number of
women who go topless in public. The social norm makes it uncomfortable. It
just means that women won't be arrested for public indecency if they decide
to bear their breasts.

Instead of this being a debate of social over biological levels, I think
this is clearly a case where the intellectual level needs to supercede both
of them. Sex isn't just about boobs, boys... or at least it shouldn't be.
The social level should not have to be used as a cop out because some dude
can't keep it in his pants. We should be able to rationalize about sex
enough that we don't start humping naked persons in the street. In fact,
that's how it works on a nude beach. There is NO public sex because it is
frowned on that people would violate the social sanctity not only of the
human body but also of the act of making love.

I bet each and every one of you is naked under your clothes right NOW! ...
except for Platt who is sitting at his computer buck naked, playing with us
all :)
