I only have one thing to add to Platt's refutation of your post.  Those who defend the free market do NOT do so to protect wealth or the wealthy.  They do so because it is the best way to match rewards to worth for everyone.  In particular, patents & copyrights see that the efforts of inventors, artists, authors & intellectuals are rewarded.
