This is dubious psychology.  Do you remember the last time you hurt yourself?  Does remembering this cause you pain?  Do you remember the first house you lived in?  You know, the 3-bedroom one?  Did you just remember the 3 bedrooms?  One at a time or all at once?  How about state capitals, your times tables, etc.?
