loved the ole' "burn 'em out with paradox" bit used in the old star trek
series.
Cpt. Kirk: "everything that man says is a lie"
Harry Mud: "I am lying"
Super AI computer of the future: " if everything he says is a lie,
stating he is lying is telling the truth but he can't tell the
truth because eveything he sayssss..kkccc! Does not
compute! Sizzle..ss
Planet is free from the intellect of the AI super computer...

Right Kirk played the "mind game" with Veeger in the first movie too as I
recall. Didn't seem to work as well with the Borg, though.
But psychic entities? Ham and Platt are aficionados of psychic powers and
psychic energy. Where as machine intelligence is at least theoretically
possible, psychic B.S. is sheer fantasy and no logic need apply. Garlic,
silver bullets, saying the magic world, crosses, stakes any weird thing you
can think of can have consequences in the psychic world. Principalities and
powers in a war of good and evil for dominance of the cosmos.
When you leave the world of scientific materialism your choice of plot
devises grows exponentially.
Beam me up, Scotty.
