    The horns are blaring.  Da,da,da,da!!!!!!!  
     dmb demands a dictionary be looked at so, da, da,
da, da!!!!!
     The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary says after
these comments by our fellow discussers:

1 a : allegiance to duty or a person : LOYALTY

     SA:  Sounds like duty to Darwin until people
actually noticed the evidence instead of Darwin's
argument.


 b (1) : fidelity to one's promises 

     SA:  Sounds like string theory and all of its'
promises.


(2) : sincerity of intentions

     SA:  Scientists are sincere, but so are many
people.

2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God


     SA:  Ok, here's dmb's argument about faith and
how science doesn't have it.


 (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a
religion


     SA:  Again, dmb's argument.


 b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is
no proof 


     SA:  Darwin said fossil record is incomplete, so,
we got to have faith according to this definition,
right?


(2) : complete trust


     SA:  Darwin is a nice smart scientist, ya got to
trust him completely, right?


3 : something that is believed especially with strong
conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs

synonym see BELIEF 


    SA:  Well, the especially religious beliefs
doesn't exclude faith in science.


(3) - on faith : without question <took everything he
said on faith>> 


     SA:  Scientists the world over did this with
Darwin's gradualism.  But, as I said I don't know much
about this and I believed dmb, especially in the faith
is religious belief, yet, this dictionary, since dmb
demands it be viewed says otherwise, so, maybe I
believed dmb and was duped?  Well, as I like to say -
I don't know, so, I realize others don't know
absolutly either, thus, the do not get stuck motive is
engaged.
