you don't get it? honestly? what i meant by
'livingness of life'?....i'll assume you didn't and
weren't just being ironic.

[Case]
It is hard to see a phase like that as anything but ironic. I mean, would
taking the "livingness out of life" be tantamount to putting "the deathiness
into dieing"?

It suggests to me that what you are looking for is not truth but truthiness.

"I don't trust books. They're all fact, no heart. And that's exactly what's
pulling our country apart today. 'Cause face it, folks; we are a divided
nation. Not between Democrats and Republicans, or conservatives and
liberals, or tops and bottoms. No, we are divided between those who think
with their head, and those who know with their heart."
-Steven Colbert

Knowing things in your heart is a wonderful thing. Just drop the pretext,
please.

consciousness is experience. there is something that
it is like to experience seeing green that cannot be
captured through a description of the corresponding
neurochemistry.

[Case]
I do not need science to tell me
what it is like to "see" green.
I can open my eyes.

If I want to know "how" this happens.
I ask a neurophysiologist.
He speaks of electro-chemical processes.

I would like to know "why" it happens.
I ask an evolutionary biologist.
He speaks of selective advantage.

If I want to "change" it,
I ask a neuropharmacologist and
Pick of something to make it brighter
Or turn it down a notch.

If I want to "feel" green
I get body paint.
I roll in grass
I climb a tree
I kiss a frog
I seek it in
Oil and
Acrylic
I write a poem

If I want to "understand" green
I dump a little from each
into the blender of perception,
make a green smoothie and take a sip.

Each ingredient tastes of "green"
But "Green" emerges from the mix.
