     I agree with what you've been saying.  I remember
you mentioned how dq/sq is a meta-level on par with
meditation and Zen experience.  Is this correct?  For
the best way I've been able to explain my meditations
and Zen understandings is to just stick with dq/sq
language.  Once I get further into sq, then this is
where I believe Pirsig strengthens thought and static
patterns, where historically Zen, which does not
reject thought, has fallen into moments where
interpretation even by Eastern Asian Zen practitioners
has become a rejection of thought [from what I've read
from scholars from Eastern Asia (ex. Masao Abe) and
Zen masters (ex. Hui Neng the 6th Patriarch who
advocated against those that he knew practiced Zen as
being a blank mind and suppressed thought, which this
advocation is found in the Platform Sutra)].  Thus,
the MoQ has a good strong support in further defining
static patterns, yet, still has the static patterns
that are egoless thus still drip with dq for all is
quality.
