I call that a "hit & run" pronouncement.

If things are, what are they?  Thoughts, ideas, noumena?  I don't mean to be
picky but this is a philosophy forum, after all, and I know you to be quite
articulate.  This is a topic that merits some discussion.

For example, as an essentialist, I would say things exist.  As to what they
are, I haven't the slightest notion.  Nor, do I believe, does anyone else.
Perhaps you could enlighten us.
