Likewise if you need to deny God as the designer of the ultra-complex processes
you described, that is your own issue. I find it strange that some who demean
those who believe in God, thus engaging in a form of bigotry, will in the same
breath condemn bigotry as highly immoral.

Spare me the same old distortions. I have posted many, many times that I find
consideration of metaphor in myth to be highly important. And far from
"demeaning" mythologies from all over the globe, I find much to be learned
(like Joseph Campbell suggests) about the human condition from thinking about
the metaphors man has used to describe the cosmos. What I find disturbing and
(rightfully) condemn is those who attempt to foist a particular, nationalistic
"myth" into my face as "literal" and "true". You, for example, with your
ongoing appeals to "Judeo-Christian morality" (why do you never appeal to
"Buddhist morality", or "Hindu morality"... for example). Indeed, for someone
who professes to adhere to an "anti-theistic" (Pirsig's words) philosophy, this
smacks of more hypocrisy than I could muster. Or maybe its just pandering. Who
knows?
