Hey Mark,

Mark said:
It occurs to me all values may exist in a divine mind, and as such the moq
may be regarded as a form of idealism.

Matt:
Yeah, there have been a few philosophers who've suggested that before, most
of them Christian, and that would be a kind of idealism, in a way (Spinoza
comes to mind). There are ways to still get out of it, if one was so
inclined. I'm not too hip to the idea of a "divine mind," mainly because
pragmatically it doesn't do much for you. Once you've made the spin to
pragmatism, which I think Pirsig's "Quality is reality" first principle does
inherently, all the philosophical holes that one would patch up with
idealism are already obselete. But if there are other reasons to suggest a
divine mind, then I leave that up to the poet inclined to do so.

Matt

Hi Matt,
I felt you would be one who would be critical of the moq.
Your response is less critical than my own.
This is a novel position for me!
As i see it, i cannot for the life of me understand why dmb has been so
hysterical about your position before today.
Thanks.
Love,
Mark
