Ron Kulp:
Here's a crazy question: whats space unfolding in?
dmb says:
Well, that's just it. What is outside of everything? What is beyond the edge
of the universe? These are the crazy questions generated when a model of
everything construes the universe as being situated in something larger.
This is why I like the big bang analogy. Prior to that explosion there was
no space. Space and time is a product of the explosion, of the evolutionary
process on the inorganic level. Maybe this is a basic version of the same
differentiation process that occurs on all levels. In any case, the idea is
simply that evolution is an expansion of reality and it doesn't matter if
we're talking about literal space as the physicists know it or the
intersubjective cultural space as intellectuals know it.
