I've been a silent audience to this august group
discussing Mr. Pirsig's brilliant ideas with such
intensity. I hope my humble opinions which I am going
to share with you make a point.
I'm sure they will help.
[Dwai]
I think it's very important to emphasize the point
that people don't "Realize" anything (at least not in
the spiritual realm) intellectually. This realization
has to transcend intellect (at the very least in the
written form or as is commonly understood these days),
since intellect is an artificial construct (based on
syntax that is artificial).
How do you "realize anything" even in the
"spiritual realm", or maybe you don't accept a
"spiritual realm"? What is a spiritual realm anyways?
[Dwai]
A realization of Chi (Qi) based on physical/energetic
experience (experiential knowledge) is superior and
works at levels beyond the capabilities of what we
call the intellect.
I would agree that the intellect is only one part
of this world, and that's why I refer to myself as a
tiny skull. The universe can't fit in this tiny skull
of mine.
[Dwai]
The Taoists, Tantrics, Yogis, etc have always
recommended experiential realization as the true
medium. Chi can be talked about for hours but even the
slightest experience of it will dispel all
misconceptions about what it really is. Dharma (Tao)
is also that. As is said in the Tao-te-ching, "The Tao
that can be named is not the real Tao".
Yes, a much fuller practice of experience is on
all levels.
thanks.

SA
