Hello Ron,

What's got my goat is the power of government to legally kill those who
oppose it, as millions of dead will testify. Eternal viligence is
required
to keep government from eliminating those who speak out against its
abuses.
The advent of government-defined "hate speech" is a troubling sign of
our slide
away from individual freedom to collective totalitarianism.

I think we can all agree to that. One of our civic responsibilities in
the 
Society we live in is the support of an educated citizenry. The focus is
On the Quality of that education. The slide to collective
totalitarianism
Is a symptom of buying our own brand of bullshit. We can fool ourselves
Into believing anything it wants us to believe with the proper spin.
Harsh criticism even if it borders on the extreme,
Like it or not, is the best form of checks and balances going..
We lack independent thought, we bandwagon as a matter of trend.
This is rooted in education and how we teach our young. Strides
Have been made but there is plenty of room for improvement.
The willingness to get involved in the community teaches and
Sets examples for children, each one of us sets examples for
Behavior and thought everyday whether we realize it or not.
If we can sell this sort of civic responsibility, an individual
Commitment to the betterment of the community, it would have no
Choice but to trickle up. The true worth and merit of an individual
Is what they contribute to others lives. Our individual isolationists
Ways have wreaked havoc on our society, we have let responsibility slide
We have let everyone blame society and they want society to fix it.
Hello socialism. With freedom comes responsibility, civic
responsibility.
We do not do this with the idea of "moochers" there will always be those
We do this to infect others with this cause, the only way we are going
To eliminate "mooching" is by setting an early example in our young.

Lead by example I say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
