Just to remind you that there are altered states chemically induced 
for different purposes.  Recreational is certainly one reason, but 
not the only reason.

I didn't mean to suggest otherwise. Leary had good results using LSD to
reduce recidivism in felons. But I would still hold that drawing
metaphysical conclusions for any particular state, altered or otherwise is
suspect.
