This nation has shifted dangerously to the left over the last half-century.

How anyone can look at the last half of the 20th century and see a shift to
the left is either a mystery or myopia. Conservatives ruled almost
uninhibited from 1969 until the present. Hopefully what the first decade of
the new century has at last clearly demonstrated is the poverty, mean
spiritedness, greed and fiscal hypocrisy of conservatism.
