When one comes across a thinker whose ideas match one's own
vague thoughts, one inevitably behaves like a "born again" and
dependent upon the degree of despair (over nothing previously
matching) the fascination with this thinker and his ideas grabs
hold of one. Your comparing the beauty of the MOQ with art I
agree with and yet I feel that there is a component of rationality
and that the MOQ is "true".
The MOQ is - as it claims to be - a metaphysics, the grand
overall view and Pirsig's about Q-varieties of various scientific
disciplines I'm skeptic of. Physics is intellect's (SOM's) foremost
pattern and must work from intellect's S/O premises with
emphasis on the O (bjectivity). An new "causation" unduly
complicates things. I believe a physicist can perform his
experiments with normal causation as hypothesis with the MOQ
hovering above. History, however, is another thing, it too rests on
"objectivity" in the sense of it being a fact that Gustav Adolf
fought at Poltava, but how this battle is interpreteded will always
be - um - subjective. This I believe is recognized within the
historic faculty already. So my advice is that the MOQ will only
explain this internal S/O enigma but not interfere with knowledge.

True about intellect's immune system, but no level would be
static without such a system, you know that my thesis is that
SOM is the intellectual level? You seem to recognize this in
seeing - for instance - Voltaire denouncing religion as intellect's
fight with - and victory over - the social level.

If you mean the MOQ flirting with mysticism (Buddhism) In my
opinion: No!! There are too many on this discussion that yelps
about Dynamic Quality as if some panacea, not having
understood the first thing of the MOQ. It (the MOQ) is greater
than anything in the sense of bridging the East-West
(mysticism/rationality) gap

True about thoughts eluding one, yet thoughts are born in
solitude. I remember the first years after LILA before the Lila
Squad how I had some scares "this seems to pull the rug from
under the MOQ" and I used to take long walks churning the said
problem and usually the solution arrived and I could return
relieved. It was the SOL-ution that finally solved all MOQ
problems
