For the record, I don't. Admittedly, I don't have the firmest of moral
indignations that if I was desperate for a cup of coffee I would go without
rather than buying one at Starbuck's, but 99.8% of the time I go with the local
alternative. The odd thing is, in many ways I respect Starbuck's, they have a
terrific employment package that is leaps and bounds better than career-similar
alternatives. Despite their over-saturation, they have become public meeting
grounds to the point of "creating" not "stealing" a public space and community
grounds. And they have taken some strides (though not enough, IMHO) to promote
fair trade and organic coffees. I am just not a fan of their city roast style,
and the haughty pretension irks me. But that's just me...
