That's just a little scary.
It sounds like modern society.
 

It is modern society. All you have to do is to step out of the scene and
take a look back. Because these changes happen over time, we get used to
them and pass them as acceptable.

I remember a few years back going on a hike with a group of about 20
people. The conversation on the way back, was totally different from when
we started the hike. Just a couple of hours out with nature every thing.
