What experience or patterning determines when to suspend disbelief?

When driving to Wilpena Pound (nearly Central Australia) and experiencing
the rock formation surrouding it (which the Aboriginees describe as the
snake) and driving along you see. out of the corner of your eye, the actual
entire rockformation slither ...like a snake...and you put on the breaks and
say to yourself: this did not happen!

Marsha:

My original question was quite straight forward, "Don't electrons, protons,
neutrons, and their sub particles inhabit a virtual world?"  I'll ask it
differently.  Don't electrons, protons, neutrons, and their sub particles
inhabit a mythic world?

Andre:

I don't want to be smart Marsha, but they do : they are mythic electrons,
protons and their sub particles.
In your virtual world they are virtual etc etc.
