[Chris:]
....The _real_ free market I don't think is around anywhere
anymore because people know it leads to hell on earth. However I'm actually
talking about the basic values that make up the market as such, and in the
US those values are far more central than here.

woods:
Why would the free market lead to "hell on earth"?
Also, how are "...US... values... far more central..." than say socialism
that puts more of the oversight and power in the gov't. Sure, socialism
says the community, but it is appointed gov't that would have to centralize
such control necessary to coordinate community efforts. That's more central.
What do you mean?

Chris:
The core of Marxism is the idea that we humans can reorganise ourselves and
the way we live, the way our society is made up. The idea is that we can
make the shift from a human society that is based on and circles around the
accumulation of material wealth to one where this is not a goal in itself.

woods:
   I like this. That's a good effort.
What I mentioned about gold back monetary system (limits accumulation of wealth due to limited supply
of gold and other metals, thus, the value of money/currency goes up) and sales tax
only allows for more freedom and a way to jump out of this monetary accumulation
of wealth march in order to focus back on other important activities in life. How else
this helps is during this economic crisis people are not hamstringed or locked into
being forced to pay out money to the gov't and we have an escape plan. Don't have
that money, plant a garden, get by with trading, go hunting, etc... Given this opportunity
to explore other means of living other than forced into accumulating money due to taxes
does just that - gives more opportunity. The system of living is not narrowed by
only one way, which currently is you must get money.

Chris:
At the core lies the idea that if we can change the social norms (the social
static values) in that society, then we can create a better future for
humanity. The idea is a balanced MOQ society, where there is balance between
the levels, but where they are ordered hierarchal just the way they should,
and thus not a society where social level values such as profit is allowed
to dictate how people can develop their understanding of things.

woods:
If that's all Marxism is, then it sounds good. But I think there is something else
to Marxism. Something more than an what you injected as "...a balanced MOQ society...".
We know Marx wouldn't have said that. He didn't know the moq. So, are you overlaying and
changing Marxism into an idea that you like, maybe not so much a Marxism that Karl Marx
discussed?
