Hi Joe,

I agree that morality is a good way to use the concept of evolution. Now,
do the laws of evolution shape morality, or is it the other way around?
Does the river create the banks, or do the banks guide the river?

Hi Willblank2 and all,

Pirsig proposes a metaphysics of DQ/SQ. The use of words has to change in a
language that accepts the undefined. ³Concept² is a word that suggests an
image. For myself when discussing ³evolution² I prefer the word ³percept²!
imho a ³perception² can remain undefined until it morphs into a
³conception².

³Laws of evolution² are a huge jump! I do not want to go there. I prefer
the stance: ³Hey! How about that evolution thingee!² In that light I am
happy to regard evolution as an order in existence. In that way the same
matter can exist differently in an evolutionary hierarchy.
