Feedback helps, in my experience.  My wife is a painter and I am not;  but
often I see something that needs improvement in a work she's doing that is
helpful to her.  Perspective is more than a technique.

Usually the most interesting aspect of my perspective on her work is that
she doesn't know when to stop.  When to stop messing about and just say "it
is finished."

More sarcasm, but too subtle I'm afraid.  It's hard to get a sense of
sequence sometimes in these e'mail thingamabobs.  I'd already composed and
sent my correction when I came across Ian's remonstration and I was
mirroring Dave's "Good point Arlo" and being snarky again about belaboring
the obvious...  I gotta stop that.  Even from here I can see it doesn't
translate well.
