Don't give up. Sarcasm can work in print if it's done right. I think you were misunderstood because your snarkiness was so uncalled for. I can see how a guy might be bored by a comment that "belabors the obvious".  Of all the ways one might respond to the obvious, snarkiness doesn't really make sense. The snark doesn't fit there. Especially since I was talking to a 16 year-old who has just arrived in this forum. Besides, there is an old man whose been here for years and he still doesn't get that "obvious" point. He thinks the code of art is about beautiful art objects.
