I should know better by now.
[Arlo]
Hmm. Mostly you agreed with me. You made a comment about Orwell (typical scare
tactic). I responded only to that by pointing out the fear-the-enemy rhetoric
used by the State in Orwell's book to keep the populace afraid. And I provided
a quote, by Orwell, that debunks the common notion that he is somehow
"libertarian" or something. I didn't get to the rest of the email because it
was late and I am overall busy this weekend.
And the response *I* get has nothing to do with this, but now tries to go back
and claim all my points are "moot", even though your initial response was
agreement or at least interest.
What's the matter, did I rain on your little Orwell fear snippet?
Sorry about that. Stupid me, adding context when I should just take soundbites
and be happy.

Wilders today, Bensinger soon.
[Arlo]
Even funnier since I answered your question by saying that I did not believe he
should be in jail. AND I pointed out that Wilders himself seems to favor
censorship of speech under the guise that it "incites violence".
Which begs the question... is inciting violence against those who incite
violence a moral high-ground? Or is it simply inciting more violence?
[MK]
Even using the term "hate speech" is tautological. I am not convinced that such
a thing exists in a non-politicized sense.
[Arlo]
And yet it is precisely on this charge that Wilders seeks to outlaw the Koran.
Perhaps you should pen Wilders and tell him he should stop being such an
Orwellian Statist by banning free speech.
