[MD] suspended in language

One of the rhetorical bonuses of relativism is that it radically endorses the desire to go it alone.
One of my growing suspicions about you, Marsha, punched up by your endorsement of a slogan like "we are suspended in language" (one that enters fully into a tradition that includes the Romantics, Emerson, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Derrida, Quine, Sellars, and most notoriously in America in the last 50 years, Rorty), is that you prefer to be alone in your philosophy. Often times in the discussion group of late, it has seemed to me that people who'd otherwise be your friends, you'd rather not.
Relativism can be a lonely place, and not just because Plato made Protagoras out to be a bad guy.
