"more permanent"... i like that... "permanence" is an illusion... everything
changes, somethings in microseconds, others over eons... one thing i personally
never liked about the word "static" is it can imply this "permanence", but no
"static pattern" is truly completely without change over time, even if that
change is imperceptible within a human lifetime, or the span of human
civilizations....
