[Marsha]
Yes, because we are suspended in language RMP used patterns of the intellectual
variety to explain the MoQ.

[Arlo]
No. The MoQ is the intellectual patterns RMP uses to explain Quality.

Besides, even you can't pretend that all language is "SOM", since language
predated the Greeks by thousands of years, and hence can't be "SOM". Suspension
in language, then, is a facet of analogy not "SOM".

[Marsha]
The MoQ represents a specific metaphysics.

[Arlo]
The MoQ does not "represent" a specific metaphysics. It IS a specific
metaphysics.

[Marsha]
I reject your biblical analogies.

[Arlo]
When you stop deifying the Word, this will be a good rejection. In any event,
substitute whatever "book" you want. Books describing "reality" do not "say"
anything, the authors do the saying. To say something like "War and Peace
says..." is narrative genre and nothing more, it was Dostoevsky that did the
"saying"...

[Marsha]
What you mind or don't mind should matter to me how?

[Arlo]
In this case, because it demonstrates a huge stumbling block that comes up
again and again... you elevate the map to the terrain, and think the map is the
terrain it describes.

[Marsha]
Do we need to go back to your statements that all is analogy?

[Arlo]
If you think it helps you avoid the subject at hand, go for it.

But remember, Pirsig's metaphysics are an analogy to describe "reality". They
do not precede analogy.

Once here, they are a high-quality analogy, a high-quality intellectual pattern
used to "slice and dice" Quality into a meaningful framework of understanding.

Bo's SOL is an analogy too. So is all metaphysics. That's what metaphysics are,
attempts at defining and analyzing "reality", the creation of analogies,
intellectual patterns of value, to help us see the unseeable void.

And if copying and pasting your little slogans helps you avoid the
inconsistencies of your analogies, knock yourself out.
