Seems to be the same idea presented in "The quantum self".
I think it's really cool to hear about how science is at last starting
to understand how nature uses quantum effects. One of these days, we
might be able to do that as well in sane temperatures. For example, the
Bose-Einstein-Condensate discussed in the quantum self only manifest its
quantum effects at extremely cold temperatures, where the heat energy is
negligible and the weak quantum forces can make a difference. But it
seems nature have found a way to let quantum effects through even in
normal temperatures. The article mentioned that they didn't initially
believe that quantum effects could be involved because of it. When
science find out how to do that, lots of cool things will happen.

P.S. Adrie, it's not really necessary to quote the entire 19kB when
adding one line. It's a waste of bandwidth and our time, trying to see
if you have added other lines further down.
