Agreed, but isn't it strange in all my ignorance I brought up the topic of
"conscious experience" and Chalmers while you a graduate school "know it
all" supposedly spending most your waking hours on Pirsig's MoQ, the rise or
fall which probably hinges on developments in brain research and philosophy
of the mind, hadn't even heard of him?

> I had to look Chalmers up just to figure out what you were TRYING to ask.

What is amusing is not only do you now know his complete position without
ever reading his book, but that his position aligns and supports yours,
Pirsig's, and James'. What's the old saying about shunning fools?

> I really doubt if you understand anything about my bubbles either.

No, but they continue to smell like the "farts in the bathtub" type, even
over the Internet. For all Pirsig's railing against the Greek trio for
crushing the Sophists I strongly doubt that he supports, "Untruths are a
species of good." I also doubt he would suggest that it is good that debate
and rhetoric supplant all reason.

I'll make you a little wager. I'll bet prior to this exchange neither
"logical or natural supervenience" has shown up in your work. When and if
you fully understand how Chalmers develops and uses the terms you will apply
it to RMP's static levels in your future work. Saying in effect, "lookie,
lookie, ain't I clever, see how I figured out how Chalmers and Pirsig are on
the same path"

> As I understand it, this is the central thesis of his book, the one you think
> I should NOT read.

Right, as a rhetorician you will pirate the words, recontexualise their
meanings, and shove them down Pirsig's throat and say, "See, see, this is
what he really, really, meant !" Doing no justice to Pirsig, James, or
Chalmers.

You're pathetic!
