I agree it is a tool meant to intellectually denigrate other intellectual
formulations.  Unless you think it's an independent entity, just sitting out
there waiting to be discovered and applied.  But that'd be just too
deliciously ironic for words - the reification of reification.

I'd rather conceptualize conceptualization.
