Given that you barely know what's being taught in US universities, I 
doubt that your knowledge of what UK students are being taught is 
sufficient for you to have an accurate opinion. This is illustrated by

The only catastrophe going on here is your opinion and subsequent 
misinterpretation of UK current events. You have no first-hand knowledge
