[Marsha previously]
In my definition of the Intellectual Level, grammar, mathematics and logic
represent the intellectual rules for manipulating reified objects of analysis.

[Arlo responded]
All of which have nothing to do with "SOM", except those patterns that derive
from a particular fundamental division of the world (such as idealism, etc.)

[Marsha again]
Pirsig uses the term ‘subject-object metaphysics’ (SOM) for any metaphysics
(explicitly or implicitly) that perceives reality as either mind and/or matter
such as idealism, materialism, and dualism." (MoQ Textbook)

[Arlo]
Right. And it has nothing to do with "grammar, mathematics and logic", it has
to do with "any metaphysicas that perceives reality as either mind and/or
matter, such as idealism, materialism, and dualism."

You can repeat your quote all you want, it proves my point, and that Bo was
wrong. Thanks.

"A subject-object metaphysics is in fact a metaphysics in which the first
division of Quality - the first slice of undivided experience is into
subjects and objects." (LILA)

Precisely.
