I think you're on to something here.

Does this mean intellectual patterns are not a part of nature or reality? If
they are, how can they part of something they are "disharmonious" with? What is
it about "intellectual patterns" that make them uniquely able to be
"disharmonious" with nature or reality? 

I take it you agree that the cosmos was a veritable Eden (everything in harmony
with nature and reality) until man came along and mucked everything up by
"thinking".

If this is what you are saying, basically, then a statement like "a hammer is
harmonious with reality" is meaningless, and ALL things outside of man's
thoughts are harmonious with nature.
