 So as not to be accused of name-calling in-kind, I thought I'd point out that my "Fuck off!" was a directive with a explanation mark for emphasis.

Oh, I see. You're balancing my directive with one of your own. I said, "why not deal with the objections? Obviously, those objections will tell you specifically how and why people are finding your explanations inadequate". In return, you said, "fuck off". The first one directs a person to defend their position carefully and responsibly by directly confronting specific objections. The other directs a person to fuck off. Hmmm. Is it just me or is there something asymmetrical about those two directives? Somehow I have a vague hunch that the second one is not very philosophical and I even detect a note of hostility in it.
