Hagen:
"We can't comprehend Reality with our intellects. We can't pull it into a static view of some thing. All our explanations are necessarily provisional. They're just rigid frames of what is actually motion and fluidity. In other words, if you think of how Reality is, you can be sure that's how it isn't. Reality simply cannot be put into conceptual form --- not even through analogy, for there's nothing like it. Reality simply doesn't fit into concepts at all.
(Hagen, Steve, ‘Buddhism: Plain and Simple’, p.71)
That which has no value does not exist -Pirsig
That which has no value has no meaning
That which has no meaning does not exist.
Experience is reality
Hagen revised with this caveat:
"We can't comprehend experience with our intellects. We can't pull it into a static view of some thing. All our explanations are necessarily provisional. They're just rigid frames of what is actually motion and fluidity. In other words, if you think of how experience is, you can be sure that's how it isn't. experience simply cannot be put into conceptual form --- not even through analogy, for there's nothing like it. experience simply doesn't fit into concepts at all. "
But if experience is value, experience is meaning, then experience can be nothing but a kind of understanding
an understanding that some things are better than others. All reality is composed of some things being better
than others every last bit.
Besides reality being "actually motion and fluidity" is contrary to the statement "We can't comprehend experience
with our intellects" when motion and fluidity are comprehensions of experience.
