Marsha to Andre:
You are wanting to change the subject from an I-less mindfulness and its imagined conflict perennial philosophy to a "moral self"?
Andre:
You confirmed, once again my suspicion: you do not have a clue!
Marsha:
There is Quality(Dynamic/static), not another substance called self.
Andre:
Nitwit!!! Who talks about 'substance'? You are subverting, digressing, decomposing, deconstructing...slithering...again.
Marsha:
I don't "fail to recognize".
Andre:
I am convinced you do. As you want nothing to do with it. See below.
Marsha:
I fail to be willing to replace my understanding with your being stuck on social level morality.
Andre:
Ahh, ohh. well here we go. Think what you like and argue what you like so long as we avoid the pragmatic (i.e social/biological) implications of our thoughts in our behavior? So long as my experience (intellectual/mindful) coincides with my thoughts everything is just honky dory. You have just confirmed the Cartesian split... and separated mind from body/matter and its implications. The problem, most if not all SOM philosophies have fallen prey to. Do as I say not as I do. You have just separated moral thought from moral activity.
As I asked David some time ago, why do you think Gautama Buddha got up from under the bodhi tree?
Marsha, we are on different wavelengths. I just want to have a REASONABLE discussion, which seems reasonable, on a discussion forum and you do not. You see, discussions are the exchange of static patterns of value (which you do not recognize because you do not understand them properly)which invariably lead to better (DQ) understandings...after which they are static again. It has to do with latching. Phaedrus had a few things to say about that as well. (Mark doesn't understand or accept that either, poor soul) I refer both of you to Chapter 13 of LILA).
Have you finished now? I mean, your constant seeking for affirmation of your 'understanding' is becoming quite suspect...like social level stuff??. As a psychologist I would have to ask: "If you should, in any way, lose that understanding, what have you lost? Or conversely: "Should you retain that understanding what have you gained?
Boy, oh boy oh boy. This program was brought to you by Walt Disney!
