Yes, I downloaded the Kindle app and managed to squeeze my book together into .mobi format which made it possible to download and read in my mobile phone from 2004, a SonyEricsson P910i. 
With the font set to smallest size it is on 2.632 pages!! But it comes with the cover, pictures, headers in color, web links and all. Who needs an iPhone? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_P910
I have read and wrote so many MD posts on it. A new battery lasts for a week if bluetooth is turned off.

Paper books, however, last for decades, or more. I still got my ZAMM printed in 1975. Where do the electronics go by the years?
